The renewal of the Western Park arterial recreation paths was undertaken in
2016 and was the first stage of a $1.4m multi-year renewal programme. Stage 2
was undertaken in 2017, involving the renewal of the Western Commuter Route
and the remaining arterial recreation paths in conjunction with the Western Park
Playground.

Stage 3 involved the upgrade of a well utilised connecting path. These
improvements includes a 1.5m wide, 100m long elevated timber boardwalk
along the Hopetoun Street Connection. 100m of 1.5m wide concrete steps were
also included within this stage, with bluestone capping pavers to be fixed to the
stairs at the Hopetoun Entrance End.

Urban Solutions was engaged to facilitate the design, consenting and authorities
for this stage.
